Abstract. The protective capacity of blasten – immunomodulator of bacterial origin (IBO) and epiphysis hormone melatonin (Mt) toward bone marrow of inbred mice with cyclophosphamide (CP)-induced myelosuppression was investigated. After triple CP injections in the doses 150 mg/kg the gradual reduction in the number of mature cells of the main haemopoietic lines, prevelence of immature and undifferentiated cellular elements in bone marrow, decrease of the number of leukocytes and erythrocytes in peripheral blood were observed. Upon simultaneous injection of CP and IBO in the dose 7 mg/kg or 0.009 mg/kg the protective effect was detected (i.e. increase in the number of mature cells of granulocytic line and lymphocytes, gradual renewal till normal one in mice bone marrow). In peripheral blood of CP + IBO-treated animals the decrease of leukocyte and erythrocyte number was less pronounced than that in CP-treated group. The administration of melatonin in theurapeutic doses resulted in increase of the number of mature granulocytes and lymphocytes, decrease of the number of morphologically altered cells. However, the positive dynamics of peripheral blood indexes was detected only after the third CP injection; that fact point to prolongated action of melatonin.

Key Words: cyclophosphamide, immunomodulator blasten, neurohormone melatonin, bone marrow, peripheral blood.
